Basmi FIP™ GS-441524 Injectable 20mg/ml
Precision Dosing Formulation for Small Cats and Kittens
What This Product Is
Basmi FIP™ GS-441524 20mg/ml is the lowest-concentration injectable in our range. It contains the same active antiviral compound — GS-441524 — as our 30mg/ml and 40mg/ml formulations. The total dose of GS-441524 delivered per treatment (measured in mg per kg of body weight) is identical across all three concentrations. Concentration does not determine efficacy. It determines injection volume — and injection volume determines dosing accuracy.
Why Concentration Matters for Small Cats
FIP treatment dosing is calculated in mg of GS-441524 per kg of body weight. In cats weighing under 2.5 kg, the required dose per injection is small in absolute terms. When that small dose is drawn from a high-concentration formulation, the resulting injection volume becomes extremely small — often below the reliable measurement threshold of standard syringes.
A measurement error of 0.05ml in a 0.1ml injection represents a 50% dosing error. In FIP treatment, consistent and accurate dosing across all 84 days of the protocol directly influences treatment outcome. Underdosing extends the time to remission and increases resistance risk. Overdosing creates unnecessary burden on a small cat's physiology.
The 20mg/ml format resolves this by producing a clinically manageable injection volume for cats in the under-2.5 kg weight range, where dosing precision matters most.
Indicated Cases
This formulation is appropriate for:
- Adult cats weighing under 2.5 kg
- Kittens diagnosed with FIP at any stage
- Cats that have lost significant weight during illness and now fall below 2.5 kg
- Cases where the attending veterinarian has specified low-concentration formulation for precision dosing
This Formulation Is Not the First Choice For
- Cats weighing 2.5 kg or above — the 30mg/ml formulation is more appropriate
- Cases requiring high-dose induction protocols — the 40mg/ml formulation is indicated
- Cases presenting with anaemia, neurological involvement, or significant appetite loss — consider the Basmi FIP™ GS-441524 + B12 20mg/ml formulation, which integrates cobalamin support alongside antiviral treatment
Clinical Background
GS-441524 is a nucleoside analogue that functions as an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) inhibitor. Following cellular uptake and phosphorylation to its active triphosphate form, it is incorporated into nascent viral RNA chains, causing delayed chain termination and halting feline coronavirus (FCoV/FIPV) replication. The compound was identified as an effective FIP treatment in landmark research published in Nature in 2019 (Pedersen et al.) and has since been evaluated in multiple prospective and retrospective clinical studies across thousands of cases globally.
The 20mg/ml concentration contains the same pharmaceutical-grade GS-441524 as all Basmi FIP™ injectable formulations. Concentration variation is a manufacturing and clinical precision decision, not a quality distinction.
Concentration Selection Guide
| Concentration | Primary Indication |
|---|---|
| 20mg/ml (this product) | Cats under 2.5 kg · Kittens · Precision low-volume dosing |
| 30mg/ml | Cats 2.5–5 kg · Standard FIP cases · First-line treatment |
| 40mg/ml | Cats over 5 kg · High-dose protocols · Resistance · Relapse |
| 20mg/ml + B12 | Cats under 2.5 kg with anaemia, neurological symptoms, or appetite loss |
Administration
Administer subcutaneously once daily. Dose is calculated in mg of GS-441524 per kg of body weight. The standard treatment duration is 84 days of consecutive daily dosing without interruption. Do not adjust dose without veterinary guidance. Use the dosing calculator to determine the correct volume for your cat's current weight.
Treatment response is typically observed within the first 7 days — appetite improvement, reduction in fever, and increased activity are the earliest indicators. If no response is observed within 7 days, contact our clinical support team before discontinuing treatment.
Quality and Sourcing
Basmi FIP™ injectables are manufactured to pharmaceutical-grade standards with documented API sourcing, concentration verification, and stability testing. Each batch is tested for GS-441524 concentration accuracy before release. We provide full transparency on formulation specifications — contact our team for batch documentation if required for veterinary records.

Reviews
My cat was diagnosed with dry fip in the month of january 2025. She was losing a lot of weight since November and we were unable to find the problem. Once fip was diagnosed, we decided to start this treatment plan per doctor suggestion. We took 30 days of injections and then decided to switch to tablet given the recovery.
Within 15 days, her health improved. Initially, for 7 days we saw nothing and just waited for some indication. Within this time we had to take care of her food.
Both my babies bella and chow were fip positive. Chao all of sudden lost weight, appetite and when the blood test was done his hemoglobin was 6. Doctor did few test and he turned out to be FIP positive. i got my another cat as well tested and she was also positive. Bella never showed symptoms however chao couldn’t breath properly, was breathing with mouth open left eating or drinking there was constant discharge from his eyes.On the vry first thr was improvement. I am on day 3. Thank u basmi🙏🏻
My two cats have been diagnosed with FIP, one with dry and other one wet. They had stopped eating drinking, zero activity, was in a very bad shape. This Basmi injection worked as a miracle. On Day 3 they started eating on their own. It was so satisfactory and relieving.
Today activities and naughtiness are its peak.
My cat Mila was diagnosed with FIP. The whole family was very scared but the doctor suggested Basmi. 2 vials in Mila is completely back to normal. We will be continuing the treatment and are so happy with the results.
I'm on Day 53 for my cat Kitty, with this drug, the daily injections, and touchwood, she's been doing well. Her appetite is good ane she's energetic and active. Thank you. I'm entirely hopeful that she'd be totally FIP free at the end of day 90.
